Gas Price Converter shows what a gas price in one country works out to in another. Type the price you see at the pump and read it in the currency and volume unit you're used to.
The app was first written for Canadians driving in the United States, where gas is sold in US dollars per gallon. Enter 3.50 and it shows the price in Canadian dollars per litre. Swap the two and it does the same for Americans driving in Canada.
It covers five ways gas is priced:
- Canadian dollars per litre
- US dollars per gallon
- Mexican pesos per litre
- British pounds per litre
- Euros per litre
Choose any two, or tap the swap button to reverse them. The converted price updates as you type, in large numbers that are easy to read at a glance. The exchange rate behind it is shown underneath.
Exchange rates are the European Central Bank's daily rates. The app downloads them when you open it, at most once a day. You can also update them yourself from the menu. Without a connection, the app keeps working with the last rates it downloaded.
The converted price is a guide. Your bank or credit card may add its own exchange fee.
Gas Price Converter has no ads, no accounts and no tracking. It uses the internet only to download exchange rates.
