My name is James and I am a Canadian web application developer. My expertise is PHP and MySQL database driven websites, systems and plugins. I have many years of experience in the field, having dabbled in many different database driven website solutions including my own creations, Joomla, WordPress, Drupal and Laravel. Most of my work has been as part of a larger team, building and maintaining the sites for our organization and clients, however I have now begun to build my own web development business, of which this site is a part.
I have found that by far the most extensible and easy-to-use platform has been WordPress and as such I prefer it as my primary content management system. I have built many sites using that platform over the years.
Another software development platform that I enjoy working with is Laravel. Using a construction analogy, if WordPress offers you a pre-built house onto which you can add fixtures and paint, Laravel offers you a stack of pre-cut lumber and tools to get the job done in whatever way you might need.
